Successful Bid Management is the life blood of many organisations, many of whom have become adept at managing and winning bids. However for most organisations there is little understanding of the true cost of putting together a bid. If such an understanding were derived, organisations could consider the likely Bid Costs whilst making their bid/no bid decisions. This would undoubtedly ensure that decisions to bid would be vigorously challenged and bids that were deemed unsuitable or unwinnable would be thrown back. Taking an active decision to bid less, win more allows the Bid Teams to focus on improving the bid management process to ensure that the quality of all actively pursued bids is exemplary and therefore chances of winning are greatly enhanced.
