Impacting Factors

We recognise that each company has specific circumstances that drive its need for change and transformation. These impacting factors create that company’s specific environment and if not recognised and accommodated can be what stifles transformation. It is the environment into which the transformation is implemented; where theory meets the real world. It is therefore critical, that the environment and its impacting factors are fully assessed and duly accommodated.

In parallel to ensuring all change capabilities are optimized, factors that impact an organizations ability to transform, also need to be paid due attention. These unique ‘Impacting Factors’ are represented in orange in the TCM diagram (above) include but are not limited to:

  • Leadership – Is transformation being lead effectively by Senior Management?
  • Culture – How ready is the business to accept change/transformation?
  • Communication – How well is the communication of change/transformation being managed across the business?
  • Resource – How is the Transformation Programme being resourced, what are the priorities?
  • Dependencies – What other factors is transformation dependent upon and how can this dependency be managed?
  • Competency – How do the corporate competencies support or militate the required change?
  • History & Precedence – What has gone before? Are we doing the same things and expecting different results? Can staff see what is being done differently this time around?
