Transformation Capability Assessment (TCA)

Given the criticality of implementing successful transformation, it follows that having the appropriate capability in place in terms of skills, experience, structure and appreciation of the current impacting factors is essential. If these elements are not in place the risk of failure is extremely high.

The Transformation Capability Assessment (TCA) is a  structured and evidence based assessment tool which  measures the level of each change capability and assesses the  associated risk. Having conducted the assessment and measured the risk, it is then possible to  develop mitigating actions and plans.

The assessment is driven by the development of a scorecard  (above right) which provides the structure to carry out the  analysis. The assessment categories originate from the  Transformation Capability Model (TCM) with the analysis  being carried out against each change capability the output is  then summarised into the scorecard producing a result. The  result is measured against a pre-agreed scale giving the risk  score.

The results of the analysis populate the scorecard which converts the output into a graphical form. The pre-agreed baseline highlights any score that is above baseline thereby denoting a high level of risk.

The TCA Assessment (above left) together with the Environmental Impact Assessment (above right) form an integral part of the Transformation Assessment Report that highlights recommendations of what needs to be done to ensure that the transformation programme is structured for successful achievement of the transformation goals and identified benefits.
