Supplier Management

Many organisations have become adept at squeezing their suppliers with those further down the chain having less option but to conform. Supplier Management is not just about squeezing suppliers margins it is about looking at the Organisation’s operational spend holistically to identify areas where improvements can be made by:

  • Grouping similar multi-supplier services into one overall requirement
  • Requesting, Request for Proposals (RFPs) & Invitations to Tender (ITT) from potential suppliers to gain an understanding of what is available within the market
  • Developing relations with strategic suppliers willing to trade profit for loyalty
  • Offshoring non-critical services
  • Redefining service levels & quality levels to ensure they are fit for purpose, not overblown
  • Reviewing supplier management processes to promote suppliers working in collaboration with the Organisation.

In order to get the best from a supplier, Organisations should ask themselves “are we a good customer”? If for whatever reason the answer is “no” this should be remedied.

As Supplier Management covers a wide area, Transform Associates have Associates with a breadth of experience across the whole spectrum, as well as Associates who specialise in specific sets of services e.g. IT Infrastructure, Telecoms, Call Centres etc.
